Birchfield Big Local held its first Christmas Choir Concert on Wednesday 16th December at Grosvenor Road Studios. The event was well attended and there were performances from members of Wilton Road United Reform Church and volunteers and guests from the local area. The event was hosted by Rev’d Dr Bob Stephen, rector at St Mary’s Handsworth who gave a very entertaining talk and introduced the singers. The event was recorded by Paul Snook, studio manager at Grosvenor Road and photographs taken by local photographer Claudette Holmes. Angus McCabe and a colleague from Birmingham University also attended and conducted interviews for the Our Bigger Story evaluation project. A superb buffet lunch was prepared by local resident Carmen Brown. We are hoping that this will become an annual event in the Birchfield calendar.
