The assessors for It’s Your Neighbourhood visited on Thursday to look at the achievements made over the year for Bloom in Birchfield. Carol Miller and Jenny Brewer had lunch, prepared by Lurlyn Salmon, at the Allotment Pavilion. There was a tour of the allotments followed by a walk-about of the neighbouring streets including Havelock Road, Westminster Road and Livingstone Road. The tour also took in Westminster Crescent where Carol and Jenny were able to see the work done by BRAG, Midland Heart and local residents to brighten up the green space at the heart of the crescent. It will be September before we hear the results of this years’ awards. Bloom in Birchfield is lead by Birchfield Residents Action Group with support from Birchfield Big Local and other partners including Midland Heart and Birmingham City Council.
