The Birchfield Heritage Trail is a celebration of the history and diverse cultural heritage of this area of Birmingham which is just a short distance from the Alexander Stadium – home to the Birchfield Harriers and a key venue for the Commonwealth Games 2022.
It is one of twenty heritage trails across the city funded through the Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund.
The trail will reveal some of the hidden secrets of the Birchfield area, how the place has changed over time and the many links between Birchfield and other parts of the world including Commonwealth countries.
The QR code will take you to the first of two trails of the Birchfield area including a leaflet and map that can be downloaded. Printed copies are also available on request.
There will be guided tours taking in some of the sites on the trail during the Commonwealth Games (28th July – 8th August) and during Birmingham Heritage Week (9th – 18th September). Details will be posted on www.birchfieldbiglocal.org/heritage-trail which can also be accessed via the QR code.
