MENCAP: Guaranteed interview programme now open!

Are you interested in care work? Can you work shifts?
Would you like to make a difference to people’s lives?

Birmingham Adult Education Service are working in partnership with care provider Midland Mencap who are recruiting for a number of vacancies (for Females only) across Birmingham.

The partnership will offer a pre-employment training course with a guaranteed interview.

You will receive childcare and travel support while on the programme through the Department of Work & Pensions.
Varied positions are available. Shifts may include early mornings and late evenings.

Midland Mencap are looking to fill both full and part time positions. Clients will need to be flexible.

Launch of Enterprise Awards 2015

Birchfield Big Local is launching a second round of the Enterprise Awards in partnership with UnLtd. We are looking for individuals with great ideas for social enterprises that will help bring benefits to the local community. We are offering support and Awards of between £500 and £5000. You can either apply for a Try It Award – small amounts of funding up to £500 for individuals to try out their ideas to improve the local area, or a Do It Award which is up to £5000 (average Award £2500) for individuals who can demonstrate they have the energy and skills to take forward their project idea.  The deadline for the online expression of interest form is 11th September – and the deadline for completed application forms is 4th October . We will be running two surgeries at Grosvenor Road Studios, 16 Grosvenor Road: 10am – 12noon on 9th September,  and 6 – 8pm on 17th September  to help people with the application process. Birchfield Enterprise Awards 2015

Can you help transform your community through an exciting social enterprise? Do you have a great business idea that has social value? Birchfield Big Local will soon be launching a second round of the Enterprise Awards with support from UnLtd. You can choose which award to apply for: Try It Awards – £500 for individuals to try out their idea to improve the local area; or Do It Awards – up to £5,000 for individuals who wish to take forward an idea that has some project planning already in place. We will be running two award surgeries to help those wishing to apply on Wednesday 9th September (10am – 12noon) and Thursday 17th September (6 – 8pm) at Grosvenor Road Studios, 16 Grosvenor Road. Job Club Launch

A new job club is to be launched starting Tuesday 10th March at Grosvenor Road Studios.
